it is the end of the Lebanese Basketball Championship season for Champville team when they lost the semi-final third decicive match, 3 to 0, against The bluestars by the score of 83 - 90.

Devon Ford led Champville scores with 31 points while Corey Louis and Mario Abboud both added 10.

Champville was involved in a close game against the Blue Stars during the second game of the Lebanese basketball championship semi-finals. Champville team was not able to take the lead in any of the 4 quarters despite Devon Ford's game high 36 points. In fact, all the quarters ended to the Blue Stars' side 22-24, 36-44, 56-67 and 79-84. Elie Mchantaf added 10 pts while Fadi el Khatib was the best scorer in the BlueStars' team with 33 pts. This was the 2nd loss against the BlueStars in the series. Champville are now down 2-0 and will need to win all their matches to advance to the final; while, on the other hand, the BLueStars need only one win to insure a spot to meet the winner between Sagesse and Riyadi.

Note: Devon Ford is averaging in the final four 33 ppg. The next game will be played tommorow (23-4-07) at BlueStars' homecourt at 21 45.

Devon ford hit a game high 30 points, 26 in the 1st half, but it wasn't enough to prevent a loss in an overtime thriller to the Blue Stars during the Lebanese basketball championship semi-finals.Karl Sarkis hit 2 free throws to tie the game 73-73 with 5.6 seconds left.Then honeycut missed the jumper and the game went to overtime.Champville only managed to score 3 points in the extra-time which gave the lead 1-0 to the Blue Stars.Champville's total rebound in the 1st half was higher than the BlueStars' and gave the team extra-possessions. But then in the second half, the Blue Stars, who made a great comeback in rebounding, played tough defense on Devon Ford who only scored 4 total points.The series will continue in Dik El Mehdi Sunday at 4 p.m.Champville will look forward to take advantage of it's home court to tie the series 1-1.

Ghassan Sarkiss told us that he was somehow satisfied with the players' performance where they showed a good team play despite the pressure that was laying on them especially that the Blue Stars team is one the candidates to win the title this season.

Champville lost in front of Riyadi Beirut 79 - 102 during the semi-final of the Lebanese Basketball Cup that was held at Ghazir court yesterday evening and with the abscence of Elie Mchantaf and Hani El-Zakhem.
Best Scorers Corey Louis (21 pts), 11 rebounds) and Devon Ford (18 pts).
Previously, Champville have won over Al-Burj Antoura 97 - 76 without the presence of the Foreign players nor Elie Mchantaf, karl Sarkiss, Mario Abboud and Hani El-Zakhem.

Champville team hosted and took over Antranik in the third and decicive game during the Lebanese Championship Playoffs.
Quarters: 23 14 / 41 36 / 59 52 / 79 70
The game started cautiously as both teams played a defensive strategy that resulted with many turn overs from both sides until Champville managed to end the 1st quarter 23 14.Coach Ghassan Sarkiss continued with the same lineup all the way through the game keeping Devon Ford (Best Scorer 23 pts), Corey Louis, ELie Mchantaf (15 pts), David Der Yaghyayian(5 three points) and Mario Abboud (17 pts and 18 rebounds)
Despite his fouling out in the last quarter (79 70), when Mario was introduced in the starting lineup, the chants began: Marioooo, Mario who was the match turning point showing a good quality of a player.

Ghassan sarkiss: In the second game, Antranik annoyed us with the pick & Roll on Copperwood so we used Mario Abboud double team on pick and we managed to stop most of their key players such as Hosep (who couldn't score) and Vicken Eskedjian. Antranik had to use only one or two of their Players and couldn't lever with us. You can notice that we never had a leveled score and we were ahead all the way. The guys played well.

Champville couldn't match up with today's encounter with Antranik in the second game during the Playoffs at AGBU center in Dbaye.
Despite yesterday's performance, Antranik managed, using a "box in one " strategy on Devon Ford, to overcome Champville and took benefit of their homecourt advantage and the pressure that was clearly shown on their visitors.
The first quarter ended 22 21 favoring Antranik who completed also the second quarter 44 43.
The third quarter was a blow for Champville's team ending it with 6 pts deficit until they collapsed in the last quarter where the difference reached 13 pts until the match ended 76 85.
The third decisive game will be held tomorrow Monday at 21:45 Champville court to determine the ticket holder to the final four.

Playoffs - Champville leads 1 - 0

Devon Ford exploded a season-high 40 points leading Champville to a home victory over the visiting Antranik.
The team played fit in the first quarter but was outscored in the second (31-19) when Hani El-Zakhem and Corey Louis, substituted by Nadim Hawi, sets off to the bench with foul troubles. Champville entered the 2nd half with a 4 point deficit (41-45), but was able to recover thanks to Mario Abboud (12 pts) and Devon Ford (40pts).
Champville came into the 4th quarter with a stress-free lead and ends the game with 20 pts (95 - 75).

In a non decisive game, Champville team hosted and won logically over Antonin, freshly discarded to the 2nd division, during the final match of the Lebanese Basketball Championship regular season.
Champville starters were Hani el Zakhem, Samer Meshref, Hassan El Lakiss and the two Americans Devon Ford and Corey Louis.
This was the 8th win for Champville this season.

Best Scorer for Champville Corey Louis with 23 pts and 12 rebounds. Samer meshref 22 pts and Ralph Ghassan Sarkiss 12 assists and 5 rebounds.

Champville fall to Sagesse

Champville kept the third place despite the fail to Sagesse 68 - 79 during their 2nd confrontation in the regular season of the Lebanese Basketball Championship.Former Sagesse’s Captain Elie Mchantaf played against his old team for the first time in 14 years.. The game was not essential to Champville but crucial to Sagesse in order to maintain their home court advantage and the forth place next to United team.. Champville played with only one foreigner when Coach Ghassan Sarkiss favored to include most of the bench players in this match.Captain Elie Mchantaf was the best scorer for Champville with 18pts ( 4 three pt shots, 6 Rebounds and 3 assists) while Karl Sarkiss added 11 pts.
Champville will meet Antonin, freshly discharged to the second division, next Saturday for the last game in the regular season.

Champville collapsed facing Riyadi

Despite their loss against Riyadi 100 - 86, Champville team kept, for now, their 3rd place ranking at the Lebanese basketball Championship.
Riyadi showed a clear control at the first half and margined the score by 20 pts until Champville managed to narrow it by 9 pts at the third quarter thanks to David DerYaghyayian's 4 three point shots.
Unfortunately, Riyadi dominated most of the 4th quarter using their favorite three points and fast breaks to end the game with 16 pts and 12th consecutive win in a row this season.

Champville takes out Anibal 72 - 64

At champvile stadium in dick-el-mehdi, our team hosted and took over Anibal Zahle by 8 pts. All quarters ended as follows: (11-20) (17-13) (18-15) (18-24).

The game came in strong especially at the 4th quarter when champville team took a lead advantage over Anibal’s uncontrolled ball although all there quarters showed a tighten score.

Devon Ford scored 36 pts and Corey Louis 8 assists and 10 rebounds Champville will be Riyadi’s guest this coming Monday in manara.

Champville steered past Antranik 76 - 62

After losing to the blue stars on Wednesday, and after a boring match, Champville steered past Antranik who appeared to be the perfect antidote for what was ailing Champville. Devon Ford racked up 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals to increase Antranik's losing streak.Elie Mchantaf recorded 11 pts and 7 rebounds, Mario Abboud added 12 rebounds and Karl Sarkis 13 pts leading champville to a 76-62 road victory over Antranik. Josh Copperwood's game high 19 pts and Marcus White's 15 pts, 15 rebounds and 3 assists showed no threat to the visiting team and didn't prevent Antranik's fifth consecutive loss and a season low 62 points.

Champville's starting lineup was formed by Corey Louis, Mario Abboud, Elie Mchantaf, Devon Ford and Karl Sarkis. Antranik's by Marcus White, Vicken Eskedjian, Rached Hebli, Georges Mandali and Josh Copperwood.

Notes: Champville played the 3rd quarter without foreign players Corey Louis and Devon Ford.

Heavy loss for Champville on their Home court with 21 pts difference against the blue Stars team during their second encounter this season during the Lebanese Basketball Championship.
Facing the total degradation that was truly exposed on Champville’s team and despite their last two win, the players were out of shape and no strategic actions were truly taken. thus, the two American players Louis (3 pts) and Ford (28 pts) showed no real threat to the Blue Stars and therefore, this dramatic outcome drived our Lebanese lineup to lose their way through the scoring board and the defensive strategy; and once It was too late when Nadim Hawi gave a good performance at the end of the match.
